We were in Montreal, Canada for one of our best friend's wedding party and ended up at an electronic music festival on the island.
We slipped into an ecstasy trip on the grass while the DJ played unrecognizable dance music. At this point in my life, I was quite stubborn with what I liked which was: music with guitars. I had grown up playing in rock bands. It was really at a point where I would refuse anything that didn't have "real musicianship".
It was just about when the sun had started coming down that the DJ dropped In The Sky a remix by Red Axes.
Maybe I was just high - but hearing a classic song re-interpreted in the style of house music rocked my world. Could there be a world where traditional music could be combined with dance music?
After coming home to my studio in Toronto (the one where I recorded so much guitar music) I sat down and created this reinterpretation of one of my favorite songs of all time, Time Of The Season - the very first dance song I ever made.
In The Studio
Hop inside my studio and I'll break down the creative process that wen't into the creation of this remix.
