Found.ee Music Links Review: Worth It Or Not?

By Matthew Vultaggio

March 15, 2022

If you’re looking to use either the free or paid version of Found.ee to create music links for promoting your music and growing your Spotify streams, I’ve reviewed both and written down everything you need to know right here.

Although Found.ee’s free music links are not enough to run proper Spotify conversion ads, Found.ee can be worth it for artists that are looking for an automated ads platform and music landing page solution that is both cost-effective in pricing and flexible with the number of available features.

Ultimately, you will need to upgrade to Found.ee’s ‘Premium’ plan if you would like to properly run Spotify conversion ads due to the fact that custom domains are not available on the free plan.

With that said, Found.ee is an interesting platform because it can do a lot more than just provide artists the ability to create music links – making it worth looking more into for sure.

To learn more about Found.ee, if it is worth it, and what other alternatives there are, simply keep on reading, my friend. 🙂

Found.ee Music Links: The Tl;dr Review

Found.ee is a marketing platform that allows artists and creators the ability to create different links for promoting their art as well as run ads using their automated platform.

Found.ee Dashboard

Music artists that are interested in using Found.ee for their music links will find that the free version does not provide the right features for properly running Facebook ads for musicians.

With that said, it is possible for artists to use Found.ee’s music links for Spotify conversion and Facebook ads when upgrading to the $15 per month ‘Premium’ plan.

In addition to this, Found.ee does have an automated ads platform that seems quite similar to what you can get with something like ToneDen.

When compared to ToneDen, Found.ee is significantly cheaper and has several tools and features that can allow you to go beyond the fairly simple mostly interest-based targeting that ToneDen allows.

Although Found.ee’s automated platform is a lot less focused than TonDen’s, anyone that is using or is considering something like ToneDen might find Found.ee particularly interesting as a potential alternative worth checking out.

Let’s take a closer look at what you get when paying for Found.ee, what you get for free with Found.ee, and how it stacks up to the competitor to get a clear picture of whether or not Found.ee is worth it for artists.

Although it is possible to integrate the Facebook pixel with Found.ee’s free option, you will not be able to properly run Spotify conversion ads unless you pay $15 per month for their ‘Premium’ plan.

This is due to the fact that, unfortunately, the ability to use custom domains is only available on Found.ee’s ‘Premium’ plan or higher.

I do not recommend using free Found.ee music links because you can not properly run Spotify conversion ads with them.

With that said, Found.ee does provide a lot of other cool features on their free plan if you want to use these links for sharing directly or adding to social media profiles.

Their free options just simply do not have the necessary features to properly run Facebook ads for musicians.

Here is a breakdown of whether or not free Found.ee music links have the necessary features that artists need to succeed with music links:

Unless you plan on upgrading your plan and paying monthly, the free Found.ee links will not allow you to get the most out of Spotify conversion ads.

Pros of Using Free Found.ee Links

These are the benefits of using free Found.ee music links:

  • Lots of additional features built into the free plan
  • Solid option for direct sharing or social media

Next, let’s take a look at the disadvantages…

Cons of Using Free Found.ee Links

These are the downsides of using free Found.ee music links:

  • Not able to run Spotify conversion ads with the free version
  • Not able to use custom domains
  • Very cluttered looking dashboard

Is Paying For Found.ee Worth It?

Found.ee is an interesting platform because it does a lot more than just provide artists the ability to create music links – in many ways they are probably most similar to ToneDen as they have an ad campaign builder feature as well.

Artists that are considering using Found.ee will most likely want to start with the ‘Premium’ plan as it is a bit more cost-effective and they will likely not have a need for the more advanced features on the ‘Power’ plan.

Found.ee’s Paid Plan Options

Found.ee is worth it for artists and music companies looking for an automated advertising platform and music landing page solution that is both cost-effective in pricing and flexible with the number of available features.

With that said…

I have a pretty firm opinion on these kinds of tools and believe that it is incredibly important for artists to learn how to run Facebook Ads all by themselves.

Beyond the fact that learning how to run digital ads opens the doors for artists to apply these tactics to things beyond getting Spotify streams (ie: merch and ticket sales), it is always cheaper and more flexible to go the DIY route.

However, it is definitely a bit more advanced, has a learning curve, and can take longer to get set up and running properly.

This is exactly where automated platforms like Found.ee and ToneDen come in as they are perfect for artists that want the benefits of running ads but don’t want to learn it themselves or pay an arm and a leg for a dedicated agency or media buyer.

When compared to ToneDen, Found.ee is significantly cheaper and has several tools and features that can allow you to go beyond the fairly simple mostly interest-based targeting that ToneDen allows.

However, this comes at the expense of Found.ee appearing to be a lot less focused on how it can be applied in comparison to ToneDen’s very artist-friendly user experience and interface that is very “let’s grow your Spotify streams” focused.

This leads me to believe that Found.ee’s focus is a bit more on providing features for music companies as opposed to artists.

With that said, I think anyone that is using (or is interested in using) automated advertising like ToneDen might find Found.ee particularly interesting as a potential alternative worth checking out.

Is Found.ee Free?

Found.ee has a free plan available that allows you to create unlimited smart links. However, you will need to upgrade to their ‘Premium’ plan if you would like to run Spotify conversion ads as custom domains are not available on the free plan.

Is Found.ee Safe?

Found.ee is safe for artists and music companies to use as they have been around since 2013 and have over 25,000 users on their platform. In addition to this, they state that they “take security very seriously” and take measures to protect all of their data.

The Best Music Link Tools To Get More Streams

Although choosing the right music link service ultimately comes down to your budget, how you want your music links to look, and what extra features you might be interested in…

It’s absolutely critical that the music link that you use have the basic features needed to be able to effectively run Spotify conversion ads.

Just about any music link tool will work if you only want to use your music links to be used as “link in bio” pages or to be dropped in your social media profiles.

If you need help picking the right music link tool for you, check out this guide I made for you called: Music Links: The Best Smart Link Tools To Promote Your Music.

After researching most of the popular options out on the market today, I’ve dialed in your best choice if you are looking for premium music links or want to save a bit with the best budget option.

…and if you are looking for a music link tool that can get the job done for free, check out this guide I made called: Free Music Links: Your Guide To Free Smart Links & URLs For Music.

In that guide, I let you know the only free music link tool that you should be looking at if you want to properly run Spotify conversion ads and do reviews on the “free” offerings that most other music link companies have out there.

Because although a lot of music link tools have “free” versions, the truth is that they limit the features you get with the free version in hopes that you will fork up some of your hard-earned cash to unlock the features you need.

…So What Music Link Tool Should You Use?

There are an endless amount of music link tools and website builders out there, that can allow you to start building music landing pages.

The truth is that you are free to use any tool that meets the conversion-focused requirements I mentioned in this article (and that you can follow along with in this free cheat sheet).

With that said…

Although it is a bit more advanced, I personally use and recommend hosting your own WordPress website and using a premium drag-and-drop plugin.

This combo allows you to create unlimited links and set up your links properly without having to upgrade or connect to another service.

It also allows you to future proof your web presence later since you can add an online shop, membership program, or whatever the next trend in online music marketing is after music links.

I’ve also created a free course (that I may have linked to like 100 times now hehe) that teaches you how to get set up with this combo and even includes the music and “link in bio” templates that I am currently using.

That free course will also go into the strategy of how to music links to grow your Spotify streams and how to optimize your music links so that they get you the most amount of streams possible.

Alternatively, if you already have a solution for a website or music links already just make sure your current solution meets these requirements first:

  • You can install advertising pixels like the Facebook Pixel
  • You have access to a domain (www.you.com) and its DNS so you can verify your website domain to Facebook
  • You can create unlimited web pages and music links
  • You can easily customize and modify your music links

The free course that I mentioned can also help you pick and optimize your music links regardless of which one you are using. 🙂

Some of my favorite music marketing tools

Thank you for reading this article, my friend, and I hope you found it helpful as you build your own successful career in music. 🙂

Here is a list of my favorite and most recommended tools and resources that I’ve personally used to get my music streamed over 4,000,000 times on Spotify as an artist.

Any of the paid services or tools listed here are most likely affiliate links, so if you do decide to use any of them, I’ll earn a small commission.

But in all honesty, these are the exact tools that I personally use, love, and recommend to anyone – including my own friends and family.

Music Distribution

To get your music on Spotify on all the other streaming services, I use DistroKid because you get unlimited song uploads for a low annual price.

If you want to learn more about DistroKid and music distribution, check out the in-depth DistroKid review that I’ve put together.

Or, if you want to get started with DistroKid right now, you can save on your first year with the DistroKid discount.

Facebook Ads For Spotify Success

Although Facebook Ads can be a real pain to get working properly, there is no denying that they are incredible for growing Spotify streams and getting your music in front of real fans.

This is why I’ve put together a completely free course that you can check out called Facebook Ads For Musicians’ Spotify Streams. 🙂

Music Publishing Royalties Collection

For collecting all of the publishing, mechanical, and live performance royalties owed to me whenever my music gets streamed or played, my go-to is Songtrust.

Songtrust is a publishing administration company which means that in addition to collecting all of those royalties for me, they do it on a global level.

To learn if Songtrust is right for you, I’d recommend checking out this article on Songtrust vs BMI.

And if you want to get started with Songtrust right now, I’d recommend learning about the Songtrust discount code so that you can get the best price. 🙂

Website & Smart Links

I’m personally not a big fan of the link-in-bio and smart links for music pages like ToneDen and Hyppeddit.

Instead, I prefer having a full-blown WordPress website that allows me to have a full website in addition to unlimited music links.

For getting started with this, I really like Bluehost because it is the cheapest and a theme called Thrive Themes because it is the most flexible and easiest to use.

I’ve actually created a free Smart Links Course that you can take to learn how to get set up and start getting more streams with custom smart links (I’ve even included the templates I am using!).

Want more tools and resources for your music career?

If you’d like to see even more of my favorite marketing tools and resources for musicians and music artists, I’ve created an even larger list on this page: Best Marketing Tools & Resources For Musicians (& Music Artists).

P.S. There are even some free tools and resources included on that page as well! 🙂
