I have a pretty firm opinion on these kinds of tools and believe that it is incredibly important for artists to learn how to run Facebook Ads all by themselves.
Beyond the fact that learning how to run digital ads opens the doors for artists to apply these tactics to things beyond getting Spotify streams (ie: merch and ticket sales), it is always cheaper and more flexible to go the DIY route.
However, it is definitely a bit more advanced, has a learning curve, and can take longer to get set up and running properly.
This is exactly where automated platforms like Found.ee and ToneDen come in as they are perfect for artists that want the benefits of running ads but don’t want to learn it themselves or pay an arm and a leg for a dedicated agency or media buyer.
When compared to ToneDen, Found.ee is significantly cheaper and has several tools and features that can allow you to go beyond the fairly simple mostly interest-based targeting that ToneDen allows.
However, this comes at the expense of Found.ee appearing to be a lot less focused on how it can be applied in comparison to ToneDen’s very artist-friendly user experience and interface that is very “let’s grow your Spotify streams” focused.
This leads me to believe that Found.ee’s focus is a bit more on providing features for music companies as opposed to artists.
With that said, I think anyone that is using (or is interested in using) automated advertising like ToneDen might find Found.ee particularly interesting as a potential alternative worth checking out.
