By Matthew Vultaggio

February 22, 2022

If you are trying to find the best music link service so that you can promote your music and grow your Spotify streams, I’ve researched the most popular options and figured out the best option for you.

The best premium music links are made by Amplify.Link, the best budget music links are made by Hypeddit, and the best free music links are made by ToneDen.

Choosing the right music link service ultimately comes down to:

  • Your budget
  • How you want your music links to look
  • What extra features you might be interested in

With that said, regardless of your budget and your design and feature preferences, it is absolutely crucial that your music links provide the basic features needed to be able to effectively run Spotify conversion ads.

To learn more about the best music links that are available to you and how you can make sure you make the right choice, simply keep on reading, my friend. 🙂

Before diving into reviews for the best premium, budget, and free music link options available to you, I want to give you a quick overview of what you should be looking for to make the right choice.

Because if the only reason you are interested in music links is to be able to share links directly to people or add links to your social media profile or bio:

You’d be better off simply looking at the best free music links available to you and saving some money. 🙂

With that said, if you want to use music links to their maximum potential by running Spotify conversion ads with them, all you really need are 2 basic features:

  1. The ability to integrate advertising pixels (like the Facebook Pixel)
  2. The ability to set up custom domains (so that your music Facebook Ads work with iOS14)

Other than that, your decision will be based on your budget, how you want your music links to look, and what extra features you might be interested in.

Here is a breakdown of some of the most popular free music link services and if they provide the right features for you:

To learn more about each of these music link services in detail, simply keep on reading, my friend. 🙂

Amplify.Link is a marketing platform that allows musicians and music artists to create smart links that can be used for promoting their music.

Although Amplify.Link has free music links available, you will not be able to properly run Spotify conversion ads unless you pay $20 per month for their ‘Pro’ plan.

The ability to add advertising pixels and use a custom domain is restricted to the ‘Pro’ plan and the cheaper $10 per month ‘Basic’ plan, unfortunately, does not have the features you need.

I can recommend using Amplify.Link music links when on the Amplify.Link Pro plan because you can properly run Spotify conversion ads with these links.

Although $20 per month can be a bit more on the pricier side, the number of sweet-looking templates, solid analytics, and extra features that you get like a shop and email collection pop-ups definitely make Amplify.Link worth looking at.

Before diving into all of the extra features you can get, here is a breakdown of whether or not Amplify.Link links have the necessary features that artists need to succeed with music links:

Amplify.Link Must-Have Feature Breakdown

Getting Amplify.Link properly set up for Spotify conversion ads by integrating the Facebook Pixel and setting a custom domain seems just about as easy as it is with any other link service.

Where Amplify.Link seems to shine is with all of the different templates they have available for music links that focus on new releases, link in bio pages, live streams, and more:

Amplify.Link Theme & Template Examples

Although all you really need to have an effective music link design is the artist name, song name, album art, and link to Spotify, I must admit that the design of these templates is really eye-catching and well done.

In addition to some pretty decent analytics, I really dig the extra features like being able to add an email collection popup and being able to sell products on links that you create with their shop:

Amplify.Link Shop Example

At the end of the day, $20 per month is a bit more expensive compared to other music link services out there, but the price could be justified if you are able to make the most out of their templates, shop, and email collection popups.

If you want to try it out, I’ll admit that I am not too crazy about what they offer on their ‘Free’ plan but they do provide a free 14-day trial of their Pro plan that can be worth checking out.

Pros of Using The Amplify.Link Pro Plan

These are the benefits of using music links on the Amplify.Link Pro plan:

  • Really nice looking themes and templates
  • Options for “link in bio” type pages as well
  • Ability to sell products through a shop
  • Ability to collect emails with an email collection popup

Next, let’s take a look at the disadvantages…

Cons of Using The Amplify.Link Pro Plan

These are the downsides of using music links on the Amplify.Link Pro plan:

  • One of the more pricier music link options

Hypeddit is a marketing platform that allows musicians and music artists to create different links to promote their music to the world.

Although Hypeddit does offer a free version of their music links, you will not be able to properly run Spotify conversion ads unless you pay $9 per month for their ‘Pro’ plan.

With that said, when it comes to paid options for music links, Hypeddit has one of the most reasonable price points compared to the competition and is a fantastic choice for the money.

I recommend using Hypeddit music links when on Hypeddit’s ‘Pro’ plan because you can properly run Spotify conversion ads and customize your music links for a reasonable price.

Here is a breakdown of whether or not free Hypeddit links have the necessary features that artists need to succeed with music links:

Hypeddit Must-Have Feature Breakdown

Setting up advertising pixels and custom domains is pretty easy with Hypeddit and they even have detailed tutorials of how you can complete these steps with them.

Moving beyond must-have features, let’s take a look at the templates, analytics, and other features that you can get when signing up for Hypeddit’s $9 per month ‘Pro’ plan.

With Hypeddit you can do some light customization of the main template as well as remove all streaming links so that your music link is focused on Spotify conversions:

From the analytics dashboard you can clearly see how many visits your link has got, the number of people that have clicked your Spotify button (or other streaming links) as well as the number of emails you have captured:

Other features worth mentioning:

  • Download gates: for collecting emails or encouraging social engagement
  • Link gates: for encourgaing social engagement
  • Loud Links: for sharing your music on the web

Although (to be completely honest) I don’t find any of these other features all too interesting, it is nice that they are there and could be useful in the future.

At the end of the day, the $9 per month price tag is quite reasonable when compared to the competition and you get music links that are able to properly run Spotify conversion ads.

Pros of Using The Hypeddit Pro Plan

These are the benefits of using Hypeddit music links on the Hypeddit Pro plan:

  • Great value for the money and one of the lowest prices out there
  • Rock solid reputation and used by lots of artists
  • Decent customization options
  • Comes with some other features that could be useful

Next, let’s take a look at the disadvantages…

Cons of UsingThe Hypeddit Pro Plan

These are the downsides of using Hypeddit music links on the Hypeddit Pro plan:

  • Not alot of different templates to choose from
  • Quite pushy about getting their customers to upgrade or to do the free trial that requires a credit card inputted

ToneDen FanLinks are links that you can create to promote your music releases on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

ToneDen FanLink Creation Process

It is super easy to get set up with ToneDen, there are plenty of customization options, you can create unlimited links, and all of the features needed to properly run Facebook Ads are included for free.

I recommend using free ToneDen FanLinks because the free option gives you everything you need to properly run Spotify conversion ads.

The only potential downside of using ToneDen for your music links is that they will be pushing you to use their platform for managing your ad spend.

ToneDen’s managed and automated ads platform is super intuitive and can get truly fantastic results, however, it can be a bit pricey for a newer artist that does not have a lot of wiggle room in their budget.

Here is a breakdown of whether or not free ToneDen FanLinks have the necessary features that artists need to succeed with music links:

ToneDen FanLinks Must-Have Feature Breakdown

Ultimately, ToneDen gives you really great value and customization options with their free music links making ToneDen my #1 recommended free music link at this time.

Pros of Using Free ToneDen FanLinks

These are the benefits of using free ToneDen FanLinks:

  • Everything you need to properly run Spotify conversion ads
  • Lots of customization options
  • Easy to get set up and start using

Next, let’s take a look at the disadvantages…

Cons of Using Free ToneDen FanLinks

These are the downsides of using free ToneDen FanLinks:

  • Pressure to upgrade to their $50+ per month plans
  • ToneDen branding on free music links

Songwhip allows anyone to create a free music link by typing in an artist or song name into the search box found on their website.

With that said, to be able to properly run Spotify conversion ads with Songwhip you will need to pay $12 per month for their ‘Business’ plan as only this plan lets you both add advertising pixels and use a custom domain.

Although you can integrate advertising pixels on their $6 per month ‘Indie’ plan, the ability to use custom domains is only available on their $12 per month ‘Business’ plan.

I can recommend using Songwhip music links when on the Songwhip Business plan because you can properly run Spotify conversion ads with these links.

However, Songwhip’s limited customization options and analytics make it hard to recommend as my #1 choice for artists that want to pay for music links.

Here is a breakdown of whether or not Songwhip links have the necessary features that artists need to succeed with music links:

Pricing$12
Spotify Conversion AdsYes
Unlimited LinksYes
Advertising PixelYes
Custom Domain VerificationYes
Link Customization OptionsBasic
Songwhip Must-Have Feature Breakdown

Getting Songwhip properly set up for Spotify conversion ads by integrating the Facebook Pixel and setting a custom domain seems easy enough.

However, the customization options are quite limited with Songwhip music links.

There are really no templates or stylistic changes that can be done, although you can remove all streaming links so that your music link is focused on Spotify conversions.

Songwhip Music Link

When it comes to analytics, Songwhip provides some basics with a weird catch of only showing data for the last 14 days:

Other features worth mentioning:

  • Able to embed Mailchimp forms for collecting emails
  • Add custom links to your pages

At the end of the day, although the $12 per month price tag is still quite reasonable, I find it hard to recommend Songwhip as my #1 music link option due to the limited customization options and provided analytics.

Pros of Using The Songwhip Business Plan

These are the benefits of using Songwhip music links on the Songwhip Business plan:

  • Super fast and easy to use
  • Clean template
  • Email collection available

Next, let’s take a look at the disadvantages…

Cons of Using The Songwhip Business Plan

These are the downsides of using Songwhip music links on the Songwhip Business plan:

  • Little customization options
  • No templates to choose from
  • Limited analytics

Some of my favorite music marketing tools

Thank you for reading this article, my friend, and I hope you found it helpful as you build your own successful career in music. 🙂

Here is a list of my favorite and most recommended tools and resources that I’ve personally used to get my music streamed over 4,000,000 times on Spotify as an artist.

Any of the paid services or tools listed here are most likely affiliate links, so if you do decide to use any of them, I’ll earn a small commission.

But in all honesty, these are the exact tools that I personally use, love, and recommend to anyone – including my own friends and family.

Music Distribution

To get your music on Spotify on all the other streaming services, I use DistroKid because you get unlimited song uploads for a low annual price.

If you want to learn more about DistroKid and music distribution, check out the in-depth DistroKid review that I’ve put together.

Or, if you want to get started with DistroKid right now, you can save on your first year with the DistroKid discount.

Facebook Ads For Spotify Success

Although Facebook Ads can be a real pain to get working properly, there is no denying that they are incredible for growing Spotify streams and getting your music in front of real fans.

This is why I’ve put together a completely free course that you can check out called Facebook Ads For Musicians’ Spotify Streams. 🙂

Music Publishing Royalties Collection

For collecting all of the publishing, mechanical, and live performance royalties owed to me whenever my music gets streamed or played, my go-to is Songtrust.

Songtrust is a publishing administration company which means that in addition to collecting all of those royalties for me, they do it on a global level.

To learn if Songtrust is right for you, I’d recommend checking out this article on Songtrust vs BMI.

And if you want to get started with Songtrust right now, I’d recommend learning about the Songtrust discount code so that you can get the best price. 🙂

Website & Smart Links

I’m personally not a big fan of the link-in-bio and smart links for music pages like ToneDen and Hyppeddit.

Instead, I prefer having a full-blown WordPress website that allows me to have a full website in addition to unlimited music links.

For getting started with this, I really like Bluehost because it is the cheapest and a theme called Thrive Themes because it is the most flexible and easiest to use.

I’ve actually created a free Smart Links Course that you can take to learn how to get set up and start getting more streams with custom smart links (I’ve even included the templates I am using!).

Want more tools and resources for your music career?

If you’d like to see even more of my favorite marketing tools and resources for musicians and music artists, I’ve created an even larger list on this page: Best Marketing Tools & Resources For Musicians (& Music Artists).

P.S. There are even some free tools and resources included on that page as well! 🙂
